I wish I was a bird

I wish I was a bird so that I could fly

To have the freedom of getting to soar in the sky

I wish I could see things from new heights

See the world from a different view

I wonder what it's like up there

Does the wind in their wings give the feeling of being weightless

Do they admire the beauty of nature from up above where I'm stuck down below

Bound to the ground with wings that aren't made for flying

They're made to keep me on the surface

Where I can only dream of what being a bird is like

These wings will someday fly but that day will be the day I die

Maybe i'll be reincarnated some day as a bird of prey so that I'm in the higher chain of life

Then maybe i'll finally get to set flight with this new body of mine

A body with working wings 

A body capable of getting to new heights where I can look down and see everything i couldn't before

I'm a human not a bird 

A human who can only wish, the wish of wanting to be a bird
